Alan Hans—Owner of Advantage Development

Alan has spent his entire life involved in some facet of the building industry. From a young age, he worked for his family business, Hans Heating and Air Conditioning. He moved into sales and management later in life and credits his many successes to these early experiences.

Alan attended college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1996-2000 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. After graduation, he incorporated Advantage Development, Inc. and, keeping with his small-town roots, opened his business office in his hometown of Springfield.

Advantage Development, Inc. is a custom home building company that focuses on homes primarily in the $400,000-$1,000,000 price range. The company builds approximately 30-40 new homes per year. Their success is directly related to the quality and craftsmanship that go into each of their homes. Alan focuses on efficiency, professionalism, and honesty in the homebuilding process and personally meets with each home buyer during the construction process to make it as worry-free as possible.

Alan has developed an outstanding reputation in Omaha and the surrounding areas as a result of his integrity. Alan has been recognized by the Midlands Business Journal and his company has been featured in numerous local publications, including the 2011 cover of the Fall Parade of Homes Magazine.

An active member of the community, Alan was involved in the formation of the Home Building Professionals of Greater Omaha, Inc. and enjoys coaching and sponsoring local athletic programs. He has also contributed to the Springfield City Library Addition and the new Springfield Community Park. He also donates time and money to Toys for Tots, ALS in the Heartland, Boys & Girls Club, the Ronald McDonald House, YES House, The Cattleman’s Ball fight against cancer, the American Cancer Society, the Special Olympics, and Angels Among Us.

When not building dream homes, Alan enjoys spending time with his fiancé Amanda and their two yellow labs, Sugar and Whitley.
